Glad for the paycheck...Big props to the LIT payroll department for scheduling pay day yesterday. My bank account certainly needed it---i'm not sure where all of my money went... Thanks to Campbell for treating Darrell and me to lunch today at Jason's deli. His daughter Arleen was off from work today, so she joined us and kept us entertained. Evidently, she's still having problems with Riley the dog carrying off her unmentionables...Last night , after a very enjoyable Governmental Accounting class (Dr. Lynch has taken over the class for an ailing Dr. Varick, and is doing a good job) i joined the group down at Rio Ritas. As always, my chile relleno was great, and server Jennifer Smith took really good care of us... I was really shocked with the developments on last night's Survivor All-Stars. How Boston Rob has been able to manipulate and put fear into everyone is truly amazing. Amber should have been a goner (all couples on Reality TV series should be split apart). Someone needs to stand up to Rob, and give him the boot, but i fear nobody has the balls to do so...

More stuff...Props to student Heather A. for bringing me cookies yesterday---i expected the slice and bake variety, but these were the real deal. My co-workers swiped most of them, but those that i ate were damn good...Not to be outdone, student Darby D. brought me a bag of rice (can you imagine anything better than that???) from the Doguet Rice Milling company. What i didn't feed to the grackles will be combined with HORMELŪ Chili With Beans and tostito's queso for a hearty dinner. I'm hoping rice is easy to cook...Speaking of rice, i found what i thought were maggots in my bowl of lemons (for iced tea) at lunch today. Logan's Roadhouse waitress Megan assured me that the maggots were actually stray grains of rice. I didn't end up putting the lemons in my tea...Former student and Dayton resident Suzanne O. is visiting me at my desk right now and wants me to tell readers that she's my best student ever. I guess she's okay---she did buy me lunch once (a long time ago) at Golden Corral, Ryan's or one of those other buffet restaurants...

Weekend...I kept it on the down-low for the most part this weekend in an attempt to make a huge dent in my database project for the LU Department of nursing. The project is progressing slowly (though steadily), and it looks as if it will be another late night tonight (i was up past 4 a.m. this morning)...I did take a break this afternoon to join neglected buddies jon and albert at Tinseltown to see "Dawn of the Dead". The movie was fantastic---it was like the perfect blend of "Cabin Fever", "From Dusk 'til Dawn", "28 Days Later" and "8-Legged Freaks" (no spiders though)---definitely worth checking out...While at the theater, i saw the coming attraction poster for Anne Hathaway's new movie Ella Enchanted, and while i'm not likely to see it in the theaters (i'm thinking it's a movie for guys to avoid), it's good to see that Anne's career is back on track. Something about that girl really does it for me...
