Kualoa Ranch...Today Mark, Jennifer and i headed to the other side of Oahu for an ATV (or 4-Wheeler for those back at home) tour of Kuoloa Ranch. It was fantastic, and we got to see where movies such as Jurassic Park, Karate Kid 2, Godzilla (the detestible American Version) and more recently 50 First Dates were filmed...Tonight we headed to Planet Hollywood for mediocre food (as expected) and wonderful dessert (bananas foster cheescake---mmmmmh). After the meal we walked up and down Kalakaua Avenue and watched the various street performers. Mark was assaulted and publicly embarrassed by the gay fairy/angel mime...

Letdown...The big event on the agenda today was a whale watching cruise, and while we did see whales, we never seemed to get closer than half a mile from them. I was thinking it would be a close-up experience, but it turned out to be a total letdown. I did get some offshore shots of honolulu, so all was not lost... Tonight, while eating a fantastic dinner at Cheeseburger in Paradise, i saw something that really disturbed me---a guy wearing capris pants. Had the guy been one of the many Japanese tourists here in town, i wouldn't have been so shocked ( don't get me wrong, i love the japanese people, and many japanese women are extremely good-looking, but they are a really strange group of people...) but this dude was American. I'm hoping this trend doesn't spread to the mainland...

Island Tour...Today's big event was a complete tour of the island. Cousin Nick, our tour guide, drove us to the North shore, the Dole pineapple plantation, a Macadamia farm, a cemetary, and a chinese buffet. We stopped at a few other landmarks, but i can't remember their names at this time...Tonight, Mark, Jennifer and i went to the Honolulu Hard Rock Cafe'(couldn't miss that) and walked around the Waikiki area. I bought tons of gifts (mostly for my "Special" class) and post cards for everyone who requested one...Still pasty..

Luau...Tonight we headed to Germaine's Luau for a fantastic night of Food and entertainment. The "14" course meal was excellent, especially the mahi mahi and beef teriyaki part of the meal. The hula dancing was amazing...Earlier, we were tricked (along with nearly every other unfortunate sucker in our tour group) into touring the Maui Divers jewlery design center and factory---who knew their real purpose was to sell us jewlery...I'm working on my tan, but thus far am still kind of pasty. It may take some time...
