Whoa...Emotional student Nicole M.---the one who came to my office in tears a few weeks ago to tell me i was a mean person---brought me a breakfast burrito from Whataburger this morning. I've been a really "nice" guy to her since the confrontation, and it appears as though my kindness is finally paying off...
Building Goodwill...In the spirit of reciprocity (def: A mutual or cooperative interchange of favors) i treated Darrell, Jackie, and Campbell to dinner last night at Pablano Grill. My chile relleno was great, as usual. It felt good to do something nice for my co-workers--plus, it'll feel really good when one of them picks up my tab at Carraba's on Thursday---reciprocity...

Free Lunch...Huge props to student Jimmy Ray for hooking me up today with a Gyro combo from Kampus Korner. It was unbelievably good---even better than he had hyped it up to be...Congrats to my brother, Mark, and his ThruSkin Technologies team from the U. of Georgia for winning the Seed Business Plan Competition in Santa Barbara this weekend. They got a huge check and a free trip to San Francisco for their efforts...I chatted with former office mate Heather Carpenter-LaFleur this morning. She was sitting at home in Houston eating Girl Scout cookies (i can't seem to avoid purchasing them either---I've bought 5 boxes in the past couple of weeks. Note: stay away from the "new" pinatas- they're pretty nasty) and plans to stop by and visit in a few weeks...

Weekend...My cold and/or allergies returned in a big way this weekend after being absent for over a month. I've taken lots of pills, cough drops, and syrup over the past few days, so i'm thinking that it'll be over soon. Not soon enough for my sister however---i coughed up a good chunk of phlegm on her today while eating lunch at Jason's deli---i couldn't help it, i covered my mouth, but it got through somehow... While in misery yesterday, i went with real estate agent Amber J. to see several houses. None of them really struck me, but we're making progress...Friday night, we celebrated Ed Long's birthday at Acapulco Restaurant. I had forgotten how good the salsa was there. I think it may be the best in town. The food however isn't quite as good as Rio Rita's or Pablano, but was still decent. At least there were no raisins in my chile relleno...I finally got a chance to see Jeepers Creepers 2, and must say that it was very entertaining. Jon had tried to hook me up with a pirated copy of the movie when it first came out, but unfortunately, he downloaded the mexican/spanish version...
