Hiatus...I've enjoyed three straight days of celebrating Christmas with various friends and relatives, but am glad it's over. I can't tell you how many pigs-in-a-blanket (the crescent roll/little smokies variety) i consumed, but i don't think i'll have a craving for them for months...Derrick T. was back in town from Dallas, and joined us today for tennis. In doubles action, he and i smoked Mark and Albert in the second set after losing the tie breaker in the first. We broke their will to compete, and they had no desire to play a third... Mark and I head to Red River, NM tomorrow for several days of skiing. I haven't skiied in three years, but I have been riding the Trikke 8 continuously for the past week to get back into shape. As long as neither of us comes back on crutches or in a wheelchair it's all good...

Christmas Eve...We began the first round of gift giving tonight after a fantastic dinner at my Aunt and Uncle's. As can be seen in the picture above, my cousin Matt and wife Julia were quite happy after receiving the S'mores Wizard...While eating, i watched in horror as my alma mater--U of New Mexico--got demolished by Oregon State in the Las Vegas Bowl. This was supposed to be the year when the Lobos finally got over and won a postseason bowl game. Nope...

I did it...I actually went and purchased two S'mores Wizards at Port Arthur Walmart Supercenter # 2 yesterday to give as gifts to my cousins. I'm sure they'll really appreciate this incredible contraption. I also plan to include marshmallows, graham crackers, and a bar of chocolate to complete the gift...I got most of the rest of my Christmas shopping done yesterday at Houston's fabulous Baybrook Mall. I had always been impressed in the past with "The Sharper Image" store, but now i'm beginning to realize that most of the cool gadgets sold there are useless and unnecessary. Does anybody really need a remote control vacuum or an ionic pet groomer???
