Lots of Phlegm...This $?&#*@ cough just refuses to go away. I've gargled with salt water/peroxide, sipped on lemon juce, gone thru half a bag of halls and half a bottle of robitussin, and popped a dozen or so zinc tablets. My throat is uncontollably itchy, but i have managed to cough up quite a bit of phlegm, so i must be making progress...I leave for Kerrville tomorrow afternoon for another fabulous thanksgiving weekend...I am gradually turning Precious into the world's first vegan cat. Yesterday she ate and enjoyed green beans from a can. Her new favorite treat (along with yellow cake and sun chips) is ranch style beans w/ jalapenos. Cat food is so expensive, that i'd prefer just to share food i've already prepared for myself...

Disgust...I rode with albert, his father (smitty), and basil to see my high school alma mater PN-G (the "Indians"---i'm still hoping they'll get around to changing that controversial nickname) play in the second round of the state football playoffs against Waller in Houston yesterday. Our team was down 14-0 at the half, but pulled ahead 26-20 late in the 4th quarter. Unfortunately, Waller drove the ball 95 yards in the final 2:35 to win 27-26. The Indians played without conviction for three of four quarters (we scored all our points in the third) so i suppose we deserved to get knocked out. Next year, guys, next year...I had lunch friday with James Redo at China Palace. The food was good and the conversation was lively. John Phelan, a local figure of controversy, joined us. I don't agree with everything he says, but he is a real character, and has an opinion on just about everything. He just received an on-line associate paralegal degree from Kaplan University...
