Controlling the mic at News/Talk Radio 560 KLVI Beaumont...

Mighty Mic Master... My debut radio fill-in for local compter guru/celebrity Ira Wilsker on AM 560 KLVI went very well. As if by magic, Bob (my old Radio Compadre at A&M, then known as Sideshow Bob) called and agreed to help with the show as the "Show Contributor" 30 minutes before i was due to leave for the station. Say what you will about Bob, but he knows a hell of a lot about computers and computer issues and he can really think on his feet. I was introduced by the Producer as Eric Moore, so i referred to myself as such whenever i could remember to do so. All in all the show went smoothly. Ted from Beaumont called to say that he was disappointed with Dell computer for having a Call Center in India. He said that his Service Rep didn't speak English well, and didn't help him successfully with his problem. This gave me an opportunity to vent my protectionist/isolationist views to the entire listening audience. I said Dell was dirty for building a call center in India, especially when so many are out of work here at home. Pat Buchanan couldn't have said it any better...

Weekend... Another great weekend is coming to a close, but i must say that i am saddened after watching the Bachelor Finale. Jenn seems to be quite a girl, but something really bothers me about her. I think andrew is going to end up hurt and broken hearted like the previous two bachelors. Remember, Helene from the previous series seemed nice and stable, but turned out to be a real witch. The runner-up, Kirsten, did have her issues, but think of what she sacrificed to be part of the show --- a three year realtionship. She gave up everything to be with Mr. Firestone, and he crushed her completely. Now, she must somehow put the pieces of her shattered life together...sad...If Clay loses in the American Idol Finale, I'll be convinced that there is no justice in the universe...I was very impressed with Matrix Reloaded. The action and storyline were fantastic. I'm still not certain though how the Key Maker was able to survive that unbelievable car chase...Congrats to Matt and Kylie for getting married Saturday. The Wedding was fantastic: Baptist Ceremony (in and out in 25 minutes) and Catholic Reception (more elaborate than just cake, mints and punch)....
