Outstanding Faculty... Props to my many students and loyalists who nominated me for LIT Oustanding Faculty (Instructor of the Year) 2002-2003. It's an awesome honor to have won the award. The banquet was great. Attendees enjoyed a buffet style dinner including fajitas, rice, beans, chips, pico sauce, and sopapillas (sans honey unfortunately). Student Jennifer Gearheart saved me a spot next to herself and Aunt Joyce. We were later joined by Ms. Veronica Cooper ---who always knows the dirt on everyone... Props to theresa for sharing her DVD of "Autumn Fairy Tale" with me. It was a fantastic Korean Movie with English subtitles. The chick who played Eunsuuh was hot, and even looked hot at the end of the movie when leukemia was about to kill her...

Looks like i'm going after all... I had not planned to attend tonight's SGA (student government association) banquet honoring outstanding LIT faculty and students. I figured i wasn't in the running for instructor of the year, and i hate to attend awards ceremonies if there isn't at least a small chance of getting an award. However, one of my student contacts informed me yesterday (off the record, of course) that my attendence may be worthwhile...We'll have to see...

Shock and Disappointment... The result of Saturday Night's Beaumont Drillers Football game was something that myself, albert, michael and myself were unprepared to deal with. In the Battle of the Sabine, the Lake Charles Land Sharks destroyed the home team 61-20. Our guys looked pitiful and outmanned, but did fight valiantly to the end. In the fourth quarter there was an altercation involving digruntled fans, apologists/family members of QB Derrick Taite (who did not have his head in the game and thus played like crap), and Drillers Security. This resulted in a half dozen or so fan ejections. We enjoyed the whole scene. After the game, it was rio rita's where server Laura got our food to us hot and fast...
