Finally...Things have definitely started to improve around here for some strange reason. I just got done with my latest Cisco Test and scored a perfect 23/23. As mentioned in a previous post, I am and have continued to be at the top of our stock market game in Dr. Brust's class. Yesterday, we went to Carabba's for Matt's Birthday, and i was able to resist both the pasta and the birthday cake (red velvet...) to complete a no sugar/no flour day. As a result, i woke up this morning having lost six and 1/2 pounds---probably all fat.... I'm going to continue with the no sugar/no flour diet as long as i can---it's really not that bad...Tonight is BAPsi meeting...

Everybody wants to get into the Mardi Gras event at Crocket Street
Mardi Gras Celebration... Bob was in town this weekend to participate in Air Force Reserves drills, so he, albert, amanda, and myself found ourselves going to celebrate Mardi Gras at Crockett Street in downtown Beaumont. I've never been too big on the whole Mardi Gras thing, but i figured one night of debauchery couldn't be that bad. When we first arrived, the line to get in was long, so we first went to a speak-easy around the corner called the Platinum Club. The place was garbage, and even though it was at half capacity at most, we were asked to move from our seats because they were reserved. I took this slight personally, and recommended that our group go back to plan "a". We left, but the Platinum Club did earn $10 from each us for a non-returnable cover charge. When we got back to Crockett St., the line was still long, but we now had the fortitude to wait it out. Fortunately, one of my former students, Lewis Melton, hooked us up and sent us to the front of the line. Once in, fun was had by all. I ran into another student, Justin Creamer, and pummeled him in cutthroat cricket... To balance out any negative publicity that I've given the Platinum Club, I wish to make the following announcement: Gerard G (that's right--the noted BET comic who once said "Money doesn't make the man, but being broke certainly doesn't make him attractive") will be performing tonight. Admission is $10 and there will be FREE Bar-B-Que 8 PM to Until....
