Unbelievable... I watched the conclusion to the film "Flash Gordon" last night on either the Sci Fi channel or Movie Plex, and i now realize what makes it such a classic. The special effects were breathtaking, the dialog was crisp and the characters (Flash, Ming the Merciless, Vultan, etc.) were really well developed. Ming was truly evil, but Flash was able to save our planet in the end. The night was also memorable because Kevin and Ann, my buddies from college who got married back in '98 (they met on an AMTRAK train ride from college station to dallas) called with some fantastic news. They are having a baby, and it's coming real soon---September... I was shocked, but it's the next logical step, i suppose. Congrats, guys...

Oh yeah---down to 211 today...


 
OOPs...Well, I was doing great on my diet...was...I figured sharon and i would go to subway, but she hates subway and opted for the golden CROISSANT....no low fat/carb food at the GC...I had the roast beef---more mayo than I've had in months...I did have a diet coke though, and didn't finish my ruffles potato chips---I guess all is not lost.


 
Crash Diet done... My three straight days of bananas and skim milk finally ended today, but i still continue to hold back. For breakfast i had an original Boca Burger and a bowl of berries (blackberries and raspberries, frozen, not fresh)....oops sharon wants lunch...

Halfway Done I've just past the midpoint of my three-day crash diet...Bananas and skim milk and diet dr. pepper only for three days. I need a quick fix so i can start gorging again for the next couple of weeks


 
A Real Shocker....Nope, i'm not talking about the Super Bowl, although i was disappointed to see the raiders capitulate like that (by the by, props to Albert for the boneless hot wings---fantastic). What i was shocked about was last nights Joe Millionaire...How does Melissa make the cut over Mojo? True, melissa is slightly better looking, but Evan will need a woman who will take care of him rather than vice versa. A woman who can't identify common vegetables, much less cook them is USELESS in the long term. Mojo had it in the bag, until she inexplicably became weird. The $1M check to herself, as well as that goofy puzzle were way over the top. That poem was HORRIBLE as well. I didn't think melissa could make it through, but the tramp lucked out. Other thoughts---I just thought sarah was average looking at best, but she's unbelievably stunning in hot-tub gear. Also, the whole Disney theme during the date with Zora was so freaking funny....
