New Tent...The big renaissance festival trip begins today, and i'm pretty stoked about the whole thing. We leave tonight for the campgrounds, and although the facilities there are primitive, the tent is high style. It brand new, fits 7 people, and is 6 feet tall. We'll be livin' phat. The only problem is that since it is brand new, (I bought it for a good price at academy a couple of weeks ago) i've never actually set the thing up, so thus i am a bit apprehensive about the whole proces. I'm not saying that i can't follow directions, but we'll be doing this long after sundown. It will be dark, and easy to lose crucial components of the tent, such as stakes, poles, and the tent. Perhaps the best thing to do would be to go home after work, and practice setting it up, then take it down and repack it. I fear though, that i would be unable to refit it back into the carrying bag, therefore creating a jumbled, unorganized mess. I'd rather take my chances in the woods tonite. Also, hopefully i'll remember to bring a stick of butter (or substitute product) --the 'coons really love it - especially if it has an Ex Lax tablet in it ...

i never learn... how many times have i gone to an afternoon football game and decided that sunscreen was unnecessary. You may remember that i had the Banana Boat SPF 15 in the back of my truck, but no...I needed to get some rays, plus it had been overcast in waco the whole morning. Well, by the end of the game the redness was apparent---i was burning up...Damn. It actually wasn't nearly as bad as past sun burns, but my farmer's tan is definitely intensified, and since i was wearing my baseball cap backwards, I have a rather strange pattern on my forehead...
