Also I am also feeling strong excitement over my brother's impending visit...We're going to the big game this weekend. That's right---the big one in Waco...The Battle of the Brazos...Baylor v. Emulation: Discussing the Need for Young Techhnical College Instructors to Have Mentors/Role Models
As many of you are already aware, I continue to take college classes even though I am an instructor myself. As i am in these classes, I try to always pay attention to the professor's style of communication and class control. I have run into several excellent professors (Drs. Veuleman and Lynch being the best thus far), and while I can sit and soak up knowledge in their classes very easily, I have never been able to emulate their teaching styles. Perhaps it is because the subject matter (Accounting vs. MIS) is so different. However, this semester I decided to go ahead and enroll in an undergraduate MIS class. (The state is paying for it, so what the hey). So far, I am finding myself enjoying the class very much. I think it is because i can relate to the instructor, Dr. Barnes, very well. She feels so much passion for the subject, and todays lecture on data normalization was absolutely fantastic. I think i carried that energy to my own 12:30 COSC class, and displayed a fiery enthusiasm. Needless to say, the students were very excited at the end of the class, and could talk of nothing else except absolute and relative cell references...Wow...

mmmmmh klondike caramel crunch I skipped breakfast this morning, but luckily i was able to catch up on food consumption by eating two lunches and two dinners. After dinners, i found myself consuming two delicious caramel crunch klondike bars. Have you ever tasted the buttery sweet flavor of creamy thick caramel over the richest ice cream imaginable. When you take in this delicious treat, you find every taste bud in your mouth joyously soaking up the unbelievable goodness. As you continue, you realize that your mouth is experiencing a pleasure that is undeniable. You might find that as one bar is consumed, you want another...then another...then another....What's strange is this: I would have never tried the Caramel Crunch Klondike Bar had there not been a stockout of every other klondike variety at Groves Super K-Mart...Sometimes fate intervenes...

addendumAlso, Waco was good...I went to Taco Cabana for two of the three meals during my stay...They have the best Pico sauce...Derik (the dirty puerto rican) came back into town this weekend, thus we (myself, albert, aaron, et al) found it necessary to have a homecoming celebration. Just like we did for his "Going-Away" party three weeks ago, we found ourselves on crockett street throwing darts...I hate when you're playing cutthroat cricket, open up a huge lead (> 260 points) and still lose because you can't seem to close out the bulls-eye...Next time, Derik's going down...


 
won't get caught unprepared again... Being one who holds personal hygeine (i.e. cleanliness) high on my list of core values (perhaps higher than persistence and honesty), I was in quite a quandary last tuesday afternoon when i realized that my deodorant had greatly dropped off in effectiveness. For me, having even the slightest hint of body odor is unacceptable. So, upon further consideration, i searched my area for some type of cover up. I had a BAPsi meeting coming up, thus i needed a quick fix --- and fast... After searching my bag feverishly, i came to the conclusion that my Axe Deodorant Spray (Apollo flavor) was no where to be found! It would have been a wonderful solution, but the problem was not forseen. Then a solution arrived from my superconcious mind !!! I quickly ran down to the LIT parking lot and sure enough found a bottle of sunscreen in the back of my truck. It smelled wonderful. I still made certain to avoid close contact with those at the meeting, but if worse came to worse, i would smell no worse than Banana Boat SPF 15. After this crisis, i did go and purchase an extra can of Axe Deodorant Spray (Orion flavored, this time) to put in my office. I guess you can say i learned my lesson...
