One bad buffet...One good Buffet
Damn, i slept a lot longer this afternoon than i intended. That buffet at Chan's super buffet was absolutely fantastic. Me and Mr. Redo went (he's still on disability pay from the state, and with his doctor's (a quack if there ever was one) assisitance, he could perhaps squeeze out another 30 or so years of work-free paychecks) and i must say that i was pleasantly surprised. The general tso's chicken was great as was the japan chicken and the lasagna. The egg rolls were not up to par with China Border's and the pudding did have a strange jucy fruit (yes, the gum) like taste, but overall it was fabulous, and not too expensive...On the other hand, the big meeting last nite was rather forgettable. Wendy, my most reliable friend in LU's BAPsi group did save me a seat, thus i was able to avoid interaction with outcasts or total strangers. The speakers were adequate enough, and State Representative Ritter did nearly convince me that voting was cool, but the holiday inn seafood buffet was horrible. The shrimp was overcooked, and the baked catfish? was extremely salty. Props to Cynda though for keeping my tea glass full... Well, bunky, 8-ball, et al, need food. I divided up a leftover pork chop earlier, but they now seem hungry again...

Tonite is the big SE Texas CPA meeting at the holiday inn, and i must say that i am looking forward to it less and less by the minute. The social hour half hour begins at 6, with the dinner following. I know that it's proper socially to arrive 15-20 minutes late, but i am beginning to think that i won't be there until 6:40 or so. I told a couple of people to save me a seat should i be later than expected, but neither of them seem very reliable. Earlier, i had a premonition that they would all flake out on me and i would have to sit with either strangers (and attempt to make conversation) or undesirables (who have poor grooming and table manners). Anyhoo, we'll know in an hour or so. I do hear the buffet at the holiday is wonderful, so maybe all will turn out great...

it's not my fault... Mike just came in (i keep leaving my door open for some reason) and asked me if i wanted popcorn. I told him no; I had just gotten back from the Dairy Queen. He was enraged, not because i had rejected his offer, but because i had failed to remember to ask him if he wanted anything. I told him that i looked for him, but couldn't find him. He referred me to the note on his door saying that he was using the facilities and would be back shortly. Although I hadn't seen the note prior to making my DQ run, I seriously doubt I would have went to the bathroom and asked him what he wanted. To begin with, I try to avoid talking to people while in a public restroom. Chit-chatting from a stall or a urinal just doesn't feel right. Sometimes it's best to stay focused on the task at hand. Also, sometimes you just don't feel like doing favors for people, especially if they rarely reciprocate.

Lunch time Love...
Just got back from Subway for my usual lunch (CCT on honey oat with american cheese, spicy mustard, lettuce, tomato, bell pepper and jalapeno...with cool ranch doritos...mmmmmmmmh). I always see the same people in line, and fortunately a couple of the chicks who are regulars are also good-looking... Being nosey, i have been observing their eating habits. Today, to my delight, the tall blonde one ordered a footlong meatball sub on monterrey chedder bread with onions, pickles, pepperjack cheese and olives. How unbelievably nasty - It is so good to finally find a girl who gets what she really wants, without worrying about what other people think. To top it off, for her beverage selection she chose Hawaiian punch/Mountain Dew Code Red (or other similar red colored beverage) and to complete the meal she picked out Miss Vickie's sea salt and vinegar chips. A combination like that is unbelivable. I have perhaps found my soul-mate. Now, I just have to trick her into giving me her phone #, and then beg and grovel until she agrees to go out with me. I just know that some time alone with me would be the most wonderful thing that could happen to her...

I'm about to be late for my 11:15 class, but i just had to see if the random images were working...

Creepy foreigners stopping by

Mike has just come into the office again...nothing much to say, but i'm sure that he is enjoying himself...he is good for something though. We just had a couple of creepy foreign students (from one of those lower central asian countries) come by the office looking for work. After the terrorist attacks, I trust certain foreigners about as much as I do gypsies or carnival workers. They really creep me out. Actually , we had no job openings for student workers, thus they would have been out of luck. (Naira - a brahman from lower india - works for us now, and does a damn good job). I guess mike is good for somthing after all.
